GPU setup
kukkiri runs entirely on an NVIDIA GPU: decoding, detection, restoration and encoding.
Supported GPUs
Any NVIDIA GPU with compute capability 7.5 or higher:
- GeForce GTX 16-series (1650, 1660 …)
- GeForce RTX 20, 30, 40, 50-series and newer
- Workstation and datacenter cards of the same generations or newer
GTX 10-series and older, AMD, Intel and Apple GPUs are not supported.
Driver
- Install NVIDIA driver 580 or newer (Windows: from nvidia.com; Linux: your distribution's proprietary driver).
- Run
nvidia-smiin a terminal. The top line shows the driver version.
The Windows installer and the Docker image bring their own CUDA libraries; you do not need to install the CUDA Toolkit.
Memory and speed
kukkiri holds only a bounded window of frames in memory, so film length doesn't matter. Higher-resolution sources take longer; --max-1080p processes 4K at 1080p for speed.
The first restore builds TensorRT engines tuned to your GPU, which takes a few minutes. Later runs reuse them.
